Watershed Definition

This is NOT a watershed!

So, what is a Watershed?

A watershed is the area of land where all of the water that is
under it (groundwater) or drains off of it (surface water) goes
into the same place (stream, river, lake).

Watersheds come in all shapes and sizes. They cross municipal, county, state and even international boundaries. We all live in a watershed. Most of the students in the West Jefferson Hills School District live in the Peters Creek watershed but not all.
